Privacy policy

GB2MB compresses your video entirely on your own device, in your browser. There is no upload step and no server that ever receives, stores, or processes your video — the file never leaves your computer or phone.
What we collect
Nothing about you or your video. There are no accounts, no database, and nothing here ever learns what you compressed. We do use two cookieless, aggregate analytics tools to see overall traffic and performance:
- Cloudflare Web Analytics — page view counts. No cookies, no fingerprinting, no cross-site tracking.
- Vercel Speed Insights — anonymous page-load performance (how fast the app loads for people), not usage data.
Neither can identify you individually, neither sets a cookie, and neither ever sees the videos you compress — that part still never leaves your device.
What our hosting provider sees
This site is hosted on Vercel, which — like virtually any web host — keeps standard infrastructure logs (e.g. IP address, timestamp, requested file) for the static files that make up the app itself (its code, not your video). We don't access or use these logs ourselves. See Vercel's privacy policy for details.
Cookies
None. No cookie banner here because there's nothing to consent to — we don't set any.
Offline / installable app
If you install this as an app or revisit it, your browser caches the app's own code locally (via a service worker) so it loads faster and works offline. This is standard browser caching, not tracking, and stays entirely on your device.
Third parties
None embedded in the app. The "Support this project" button links out to Ko-fi, which has its own privacy policy if you choose to visit it.
